Goats Milk and Oatmeal

Just the other night I was quietly admiring my latest batch of Goats Milk soap when I received a notice on my mobile for a new post in my Facebook page.  I took a peek and was excited to see that Bramble Berry was starting the search for this year's S.O.A.P. panel team.  How exciting!  Since I started this addiction (which I blame entirely on Anne-Marie from Bramble Berry!) I have followed the posts of the selected members.  A panel is selected to try out new fragrance oils. Last year I thought..."next year I will build throw my name in the hat".  Well, here is the official notice!!! Bramble-berry-news-spring-2013-s-o-a-p-team-search/

and here I am!  just in time, as I was unmolding my new soap which I made with one of my favorite wooden molds! :)  The 5 Lb Wooden Mold from Bramble Berry:

Not only does it allow me to make large batches of my favorite Goats Milk and Oatmeal soap recipe, but I also have the handy silicone liner that makes it a breeze to unmold my soap.

This batch I decided to fragrance with Oatmilk and Honey Fragrance Oil.  For some reason not a lot of people like this fragrance.  I must admit in the beginning I had my doubts but it has definitely grown on me :).  Now I make a special batch for me and share with my little sister who has pretty sensitive skin and enjoys the oats in the soap.

Here are the final results:

I really like how the swirl turned out.  I added a little bit of titanium dioxide to lighten part of the soap.  This one has honey in it and I can tell that it was at risk of overheating.  Luckily I stored it in the freezer overnight, but I can see a little bit of gelling in the middle of the soap.

loving my soap!

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Happy Soaping!!!
