I dug out my tub filled with Citric Acid and Baking Soda. I had him pick the fragrance that he prefers. He could not decide between Bramble Berry's Watermelon or Exotic Fruit Smoothie. The Exotic Fruit Smoothie won in the end.
He certainly was an inpatient little guy. I kept telling him that I needed to weight the Baking Soda and Citric Acid and he just wanted to go straight to mixing everything in the bowl. Before you know it I had Nicolas (3 years old) and Sofia (2 years old) peeking to see what the fuzz was about.
Once I was able to have all the ingredients ready and Alex prep with globes we started with the fun.
I first made sure that I mixed the Baking Soda and Citric Acid really well. Making sure to break down all clumps and when it was ready for fragrance and color I used a dropper to little by little introduce it into the mix. Alex was busy kneading and mixing the fragrance and colors in. He certainly enjoyed it and kept mixing while I gently sprayed it with Witch Hazel so that we could get the mixture to stick together and also for the fizzes not to start. Once I felt that the consistency was perfect to start pouring into molds I had Alex carefully filled them and packed them really good.
By this time we were making quite a mess and Nicolas was not having it! He started pointing out all the baking soda that was falling on the floor. :)
Here are the results. I think Alex did a great job and we can 't wait to use them during bath time!
I hope to have a Soap Blog up sometime this weekend. I have three more soaps that I want to write about and then I need to get started on additional fragrances that I recently purchased from Bramble Berry. The fun never ends!
Thanks for checking out my blog!
