Sparkly and Fruity

I have been neglecting my blog lately, I am sorry to say.  I have also been a little behind on my soap making as well.  I have been trying to do at least two batches a week.  One on a Friday evening and another one on Saturday.  But the season's are changing and with the changes also comes flu/cold time.  With three kids under the age of 5, there are plenty of sniffle little noses going around and guess who caught it right away this year?  That will be me.

So I have been trying to kick off this cold and feel better enough to get some creative juices going.  Right before I caught this cold I was able to make two batches of cupcakes.  I had so much fun with my "Fresh Snow" blue cupcakes that I could not wait to get some more done.  Here are the additional two attempts.

I tried "Champagne,  a very spritzie cool scent.  I love it!  Very nice and "fresh/clean" kind of scent.  I may just try to do something else besides soaping with it.  I have been doing a little research and may have a little surprise once I feel a little better to attempt to try!

Here is my Champagne Cupcake.  The hubby things I got a little carried away with the height.  I think it looks kind of cute :o)

My second attempt was "Yuzu" fragrance oil.  I REALLY LOVE this scent.  Very nice, citrus scent.  I had stuck them overnight in the refrigerator and the hubby made a comment that the refrigerator really smell of oranges :o).  I think it may be another keeper for sure.

This time around I did have some trouble with the piping.  I did not wait long enough for the soap to get a little more stiff so my swirls were a little runny and a bit flat.  So I was a little disappointed that I was not able to get the height and texture that I got from the "Champagne" cupcakes.

Here is a pic

Thanks for checking out the blog!  Happy soaping! - Roxana

  2. Cute cupcake soaps, Roxana! I love the teal color in the Champagne frosting. I have some Champagne FO, too - I need to do something with it because it smells fantastic. I've been preoccupied with autumn/holiday scents lately. And I love the way your Yuzu cupcakes look! I hear so many great things about the Yuzu FO - I may have to add that one to my ever-growing list!
