I has been a fun year. I can remember some of the first soaps I tried. Barely finally happy with my basic recipe, I was attempting to figure out how to come close to some beautiful soaps I have seen from other bloggers. Not that I have gotten any better, I must stay I have IMPROVED quite a bit. At least now I no longer hide my soaps and my mom and sisters are not the only ones that enjoy them =)
I remember my hubby asked me in the beginning who was following me and I was so excited to share that Jenny from "I'd Lather Be Soaping" was my first and only follower ! (and she is still is to this day!). Jenny's blog is awesome and she also publishes videos of her soaping which is a big plus! Through Jenny I started to discover other soapy blogs and admire so many talented soapers. I am currently at 53 followers, and while not a lot compared to others, I'm still pretty honored to have them check in to see what craziness I am up to. Believe me when I say that I do get myself in some situations at times!
From overheating, to ricing, to acceleration, to a non-negotiating "thin" trace soap...to an overly "thick" trace soap. You name it, I have probably done it. Like the time I forgot to line the mold and how I found myself scraping soap from it the following day. To forgetting to add one of the "butters" while I hurriedly worked on a soap with "Gardenia Fragrance Oil". To trying to soap with "Peppermint" fragrance oil, while I knew full well that I am too sensitive to that scent and can easily hyperventilate over it. I never saw myself work so fast to get that soap done!
While I had some "dumb" moments, I also had some wonderful experiences. I cannot tell you how stunned and honored I was to have been selected as part of this years Bramble Berry Spring 2013 S.O.A.P Team! I was walking on cloud nine for weeks...and just thinking about it now makes me climb up once again.
So I hope you continue to tune in to my little "adventures" and I can continue to make new soapy friends! My current circle is very supportive! I can't tell you how many times I have emailed Cee and Maja for questions and they have happily answered questions =).
Here are a couple of pics from the past year. While it's not all of them, it's some of my favorite ones.
Thanks for checking out my blog!
HAPPY SOAPING!!!
Roxana
Happy birthday to your blog Roxana! How exciting is that! You've made some amazing soaps and I think having 53 followers after only one year is pretty darned impressive. Plus, it doesn't even factor in people who are probably just lurkers who nonetheless enjoy reading all about your soaping adventures.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to many more fun soaping posts in the future.
Thanks Monica! I am still sad that my soaps never made it to you :(
DeleteCongratulations on 1 year of blogging Roxana! It seems like you hit the ground running...your soaps have been so stunning from day 1! Even your 'disasters' have turned out beautifully :D

DeleteThank you for sharing your adventures and happy 1st birthday! I love that you share your "disaster" soaping experiences (although your photos have all looked great, so you could've pretended you didn't have any dramas lol), as it inspires me to not give up on it when it doesn't turn out.
ReplyDeleteThank you! If you could see some of the soaps that did not make the cut :) Needless to say I am swimming in soap. Keep trying! after all its so much fun :)
