Yuzu...not to be confused with Chocolate

A week ago, before my visit from the "Soap Gremlins", I managed to make a perfect soap batch.  Perfect to my current skills, mind you.  But don't compare my "perfect soap" to some beautiful bars of soap out there...because then I really can't hold a candle to them.  I have many batches to go  before I get there.

Yes, I admit it, I am a Blog and You Tube "Soapy Stalker".  I confess to admiring all those beautiful bar of soaps and wondering..."How did they do that?".  There are some wonderful artists out there and I admire their craft and hope to get to their level one day.  I decided to try a technique that I have noticed an experience soap, Celine Blacow from Soaperstar, use in her You Tube videos.  Celine makes some beautiful bar of soaps and I always enjoy watching her videos.

You can check her Channel here:

and her blog spot here

I gathered all my supplies together, prep my lye water and oils and got to work.  I must say that while I did not come even close to Celine's designs, I was pretty happy that I was able to do some swirling!

Here are the pics!  I used Yuzu fragrance oil

I am squealing with happiness!!!  I am so proud of my little self :)  and to make it more nice I used Goats Milk as well.  No overheating and no gelling.

So here I was in cloud nine and then my husband walks in and says..."Oh. Nice.  You made chocolate soap"

:o/

OK...so I used the wrong coloring for the "Citrus" of the Yuzu fragrance.  Yes...you see this and oranges don't call out to you...
hmmm, there is a reason why I need to do more research with colors

But in the mean time; I still smile and squeal every time I see my new bars of soap

Thanks for checking out my blog!

HAPPY SOAPING!

  7. The soap is beautiful and it doesn´t remind me of chocolate at all. I should try that technique too.
