Battle of the "Blues"

I tend to get stuck on one color for soaps.  For a while there I was using a lot of green, and then I gravitated to pink, and now I am seeing Blue!

This first soap I used very little Omega Blue.  I did not want a deep blue, but I also did not want the  grey, pastel blue that I get from the blue mica that I have on hand.  I used Nature's Garden "Clean Type" soap, which is a really nice delicate fresh scent.

For the swirl I decided just to drop the soap randomly through out and then used a spoon for the swirl.  It turn out really nice.

Now, this is the one that I am really in love with.  I think I am going to call it "Deep Blue Sea".  I love the blue.  I used Ultramarine and it's just gorgeous!

At first I was thinking of doing a mantra swirl for this.  I even set the mold and poured the soap.  But once I removed the dividers I decided to try something different.  I took a combination of a small spoon and chopstick to swirl the soap.  I think the results are pretty cool!

I am doing a happy dance!

I used Lunar Eclipse fragrance oil which has notes of:
Top:  Lemon, Orange, Bergamot, Raspberry
Mid:  Carnation, Tuberose, Orchids, Hydrangea, Calla lily
Base:   Vanilla, Oak Moss, Tonka Bean

I hope to update you on my recent experience with my flower piping.  I recently unmolded and cut my first soap batch and will post the pictures soon.

Thanks for checking out my blog!
HAPPY SOAPING!
